New Professional Award of Excellence

The New Professional Award of Excellence honors a chapter member who has entered the field of public relations within the past five years.

The award is presented to a professional who has demonstrated his or her commitment to advancing public relations through career achievements, volunteerism, and the highest standards of professionalism.

Established in 2003, this award was originally known as the Young Professional Award.

Award of Distinction: New Pro Nomination Form

Award Criteria

The New Professional Award of Excellence is designed to honor a PRSA Portland Metro Chapter member who has entered the field of public relations within the past five years — a rising star in our midst. This award is given to a person who has demonstrated his/her commitment to the public relations profession through career achievements, volunteerism and dedication to improving the credibility of public relations as a whole.

Nominations should contain the following information:

  1. Has the candidate worked in public relations for fewer than five years?
  2. Has the candidate demonstrated a commitment to excellence?
  3. How has the candidate taken the initiative to continue his or her education?
  4. Has the candidate been involved in chapter and industry-related activities?
  5. How has the candidate put his or her growing public relations knowledge to use for the good of the community?
