Spotlight Awards

The Spotlight Awards highlight exemplary work. Winners have demonstrated excellence in research, planning, execution and evaluation in creating outstanding programs, campaigns, and tactics.

Awards of Distinction

In addition to Spotlight Awards and Awards of Merit, the Portland Metro Chapter presents annual Awards of Distinction to outstanding professionals and organizations.

These awards honor individuals and organizations recognized as the best of the best. There is no fee for submissions for the Awards of Distinction.

The Awards of Distinction are:

• William W. Marsh Lifetime Achievement Award
• Ron Schmidt Community Involvement Award
• New Professional Award of Excellence
• Olga M. Haley Mentorship Award (new in 2014)

Awards of Distinction Selection Committee

This committee is tasked with managing the nomination and selection process for PRSA Portland’s three highest awards – William W. Marsh Lifetime Achievement Award, the Ron Schmidt Community Service Award and the New Professional Award.  The chair of this committee is appointed by the Spotlights Director, and in consultation with both the Spotlights Director and the Chapter President, the chair recruits chapter members to serve on the committee who represent the following facets of the chapter’s membership: the office of the president, new professionals, president’s committee, the College of Fellows, APRs and nonprofits.
