Helping people share their story has always been a passion for Colby Reade, APR. Graduating from the University of Oregon Clark Honors College as a Presidential Student Scholar, Colby believed his future lay in journalism where he could use the airwaves of Oregon to help raise awareness of issues critical to the local community. After building a successful career at several broadcast outlets across the state, Colby became aware of the myriad nonprofits, individuals and companies that had important news to share but needed help navigating the complexities of the media landscape, as well as the rapidly emerging new frontier of social and digital platforms.

After offering tips and coaching to various groups for a few years, Colby realized that he could achieve his goal of making a significant, positive impact on the community by transitioning to the field of PR full time and offering his services as a strategic communications consultant.

Since moving to PR, Colby has had the pleasure of working with some of the finest minds in the industry. He currently serves as an Account Supervisor for CMD, and has previously held positions with Waggener Edstrom Communications and The Hoffman Agency. His portfolio includes work on behalf of a wide variety of brands, including Microsoft, JELD-WEN, Alcatel-Lucent, Touchjet, MAZZO Mobile, Ecwid, and Iberdrola Renewables, as well as nonprofits such as SMART, WVDO, STAGED! and Oregon Dog Rescue.

Colby earned his APR in 2013, has received the PRSA Portland Metro New Professional Award of Excellence, and served on the PRSA Portland Metro Chapter Board as Chief Communications Officer for 2014 and 2015. Previously, he was a founding member and communications lead for the SMART Associate Board and served for several years on the Oregon State Bar Press Broadcasters Council.
