Veteran reporter Jeff Manning of The Oregonian will be the guest speaker at the next Meet the Media breakfast event on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Manning covers business, finance and corporate & legal affairs. He will speak about some of his favorite stories he’s written during his more than two decades at the paper.
Manning will also talk about The Oregonian’s deadlines, discuss the best ways to connect with reporters and editors, and answer questions from the audience. The event will include a tour of the paper’s newsroom.
Manning is a native of Port Orchard, Wash., and earned a bachelor’s degree at University of Washington. He moved to the Portland area in 1985 to work for the Business Journal where he met Michelle, his wife of 26 years. Manning joined The Oregonian in 1994.
Manning briefly left journalism in September 2012 to serve as a spokesperson for Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum. He returned to The Oregonian 13 months later.
