In today’s world, the opportunity to align HR, internal and employee communications best practices with earned, social and digital media best practices has never been more critical.
Knowing this, PHRMA, the Portland chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and PRSAPdx, the Portland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), are looking for ways we can learn from each other.
Today we are pleased to announce an affiliation agreement between PHRMA and PRSApdx. The purpose of this partnership is to mutually support each other’s mission and to provide additional access to professional resources for members of both organizations. For PRSA members, it offers the chance to educate recruiters and other HR professionals in our region about the changing landscape of our profession, PRSA and the value of the APR. For PHRMA members, it offers the chance to gain insight from PR professionals and learn best practices for effective HR communication in a dynamic environment around employee relations within organizations.
As part of the partnership through this calendar year, all PRSA members will have the opportunity to attend PHRMA events at the PHRMA member rate, and SHRM members will have the opportunity to attend PRSA events at the PRSA member rate.
This includes the 2016 Communicators Conference on Monday, May 2 at the Ambridge Event Center in Portland. This year’s conference theme is “Inside Out” and looks at the connection between internal and external communications teams. PHRMA members will be able to attend for $149, the PRSA member rate.
PHRMA has monthly luncheon/workshop events that are normally held on the third Wednesday of each month. On May 25, PHRMA is hosting its 11th Annual Strategic Management Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located close to Lloyd Center. This is an all-day event with six speakers, 20 event sponsors and around 300 HR professionals in attendance! Learn more and RSVP for this event.
