Is this the year for you to become professionally accredited in public relations? The chapter offers an APR prep course once each year, beginning in mid-February and running once a week for about seven weeks. The course is a free benefit of chapter membership.
The course, taught by seasoned APR coaches, prepares candidates for the computer-based APR exam. Open to members with five or more years of professional experience in public relations or a related field, the course will make you a more competent practitioner. Currently, about 25 percent of PRSA Portland Metro chapter members are accredited. Earning the APR credential proves you have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities to practice public relations effectively in today’s complex communications environment.
