Playful and Purposeful Networking: Pop in PR Event Recap

We came, we networked, we played. One lucky winner even walked away with a new Kindle Fire HDX, courtesy of event sponsor, Frause. That’s the short and sweet debrief of the recent Pop in PR event at Grand Central Bowl.
But the real story is identifying what made the first Pop in PR event of the year stand out. People were actually there to network. How many times have you attended a networking event, only to find that the attendees didn’t really want to meet anyone new? Well, I’m happy to report that wasn’t the case at Pop in PR. Those who attended were there to make new connections which made getting to know people much more comfortable, and the atmosphere was fun and positive.
Grand Central Bowl gave us a great area to mingle, with the essential ingredients for a good networking event: access to food/drinks and comfortable places to sit or stand. Arcade games, billiards and shuffleboard also kept things entertaining! The event remained true to its purpose in providing a fun, casual environment to meet other PR professionals across a variety of industries. You can get a sense of the atmosphere by viewing the photos on our Facebook Page.
A special thanks to the PRSA Portland Metro events team for putting on a valuable event, and to our event sponsor, Frause. Planning is underway for the next Pop in PR on June 12, and it just might be hosted in your neck of the woods. Mark your calendar – it’s one event you won’t want to miss.
